Credit card with payment remarks

An active payment remark is a barrier for the documented cards. Morrow says it declines applications with payment remarks, while TF and Bank Norwegian publish no-payment-remark requirements. We have not verified a card that guarantees approval in this situation.

Read the specific card’s requirements

Morrow says a registered payment remark leads to refusal and also mentions wage deductions and debt settlement. TF’s published requirements include no payment remarks or active debt-collection cases. An advertisement saying a card is easy to apply for does not establish that it accepts your situation. BankID and meeting an age limit do not replace payment-history requirements or the bank’s credit assessment.

Check what is actually registered

Contact a credit-information agency for an overview of payment remarks. Brønnøysundregistrene records only some types and says an encumbrance is not necessarily a payment remark. Debt-register information is a different question from payment-remark records. Gather relevant evidence before asking the bank to reconsider, especially when a claim has been paid or you think the registration is wrong.

Follow up paid or disputed claims

If the debt is settled, ask the creditor or collection company to confirm payment and that the record has been updated. If you disagree with a claim, contact them in writing and explain why. Do not assume one deletion date applies to every type of registration. Even after a remark is no longer recorded, a new credit application still goes through the bank’s normal assessment.

Do you need a payment card or debt support?

A debit card uses your own account balance and differs from a credit card. Ask your bank about basic banking and a debit card if you need ordinary payments. NAV offers free debt advice and help reviewing finances and contacting creditors. That is a concrete next step rather than an unverified promise of borrowing without checks.

Questions and answers

Is there a guaranteed card without a credit check?

We have not documented one. The checked issuers describe credit assessment and payment-history requirements.

Can I apply once a remark has been removed?

You can investigate a new application when the requirements are met. Morrow says a new application still needs assessment; an updated record does not guarantee credit.

Does the Debt Register show every payment remark?

No. Brønnøysundregistrene directs people to a credit-information agency for a complete payment-remark overview. The Debt Register describes other debt and credit information.
