iPhone instalments in Norway

Norwegian mobile operators offer ways to buy an iPhone in instalments, but a low monthly payment does not show the full cost. Compare the handset total, subscription, repayment period and rules when changing operators. Identity checks and credit approval are separate.

Three documented options to check

OneCall publishes Klarna instalments over 6, 12, 24 or 36 months at 0% interest, with available periods depending on purchase value. Telenor Splitt offers 24 or 36 months without interest or fees and requires a Telenor subscription when buying. Telia publishes 12, 24, 36 or 48 months and links handset discounts to a 12-month subscription commitment. Check current iPhone models and offers in the official store.

Price the subscription separately

Add up handset payments and subscription costs separately. Telenor says Splitt covers only the phone; the subscription costs extra. Telia lists a NOK 99 monthly fee if you leave Telia while continuing handset instalments. Paying the remaining handset balance in full avoids that fee, according to Telia. An interest-free phone agreement can therefore have different total costs depending on how you use the subscription.

Check BankID before ordering

Klarna says Norwegian credit options require a signed credit agreement and personal credit limit. Its official process uses BankID and authorises a credit assessment. If you recently arrived in Norway, confirm identity documents with the operator and finance provider. We have not established that a D-number or foreign electronic identity alone is accepted for every agreement.

Avoid outdated finance-provider lists

Telia Finance says new instalment agreements stopped being available there on 8 November 2025. Old customer agreements and pages can still exist. Elkjøp Handlekonto uses a separate Avida credit agreement with its own representative costs. It is not the same product as Avida Gebyrfri Gold in our card catalogue. Compare the current written agreement instead of relying on an old provider name.

Questions and answers

Does 0% interest always mean a free financing plan?

Read the total price, fees, subscription costs and late-payment consequences. OneCall says overdue payments may incur interest and fees.

Can I buy without a subscription?

That depends on the offer. Telenor requires its subscription when purchasing with Splitt. Do not assume every operator has the same conditions.

Does BankID guarantee approval?

No. BankID identifies you; the finance provider assesses credit. Klarna says applying for credit options includes a credit assessment.
