Advertising and affiliate disclosure
How SmartMoney earns money, how advertising links are marked and how we keep comparisons factual.
Advertising links
SmartMoney is free to use. We are funded by advertising links to some of the providers we describe. When you click such a link and, for example, apply for a loan or order a subscription, the provider may pay us a fee through an affiliate network such as Adtraction. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to the provider directly.
How links are marked
Buttons and links that can earn us a commission are marked “Ad”. They also carry rel="sponsored" in the code, as search engines require. Links without that marking go to the provider’s official page and do not earn us anything.
Placement and order
Providers we have a commercial agreement with may be shown first or more prominently. The order is not a quality rating, and it does not mean that a product is the best choice for you. Compare the effective interest rate, total cost and terms before you choose.
What advertisers cannot buy
Advertisers cannot pay to change the facts, prices, representative examples or warnings we publish, and we do not publish paid reviews or testimonials. Credit marketing on SmartMoney always shows the effective interest rate and a representative cost example.
